About CAFTAL

Cameroon Fulbright TEA Alumni Association

We are a group of Cameroonians who are former participants of the prestigious Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) program. We contribute to the development of the education landscape in Cameroon given the rich experience gained from the Fulbright TEA Fellowship program. Under the CAFTAL Umbrella, we work relentlessly with many stakeholders to address some of the merging challenges in education in Cameroon. Since July 2016 our goal is to encourage and develop quality education through pedagogic and socio-cultural activities.

About TEA

The Fulbright Teaching Excellence Achievement Program

It is a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by the International Research and Exchanges (IREX) Board. The program brings outstanding international secondary school teachers to the United States to further develop their expertise in their subject areas and enhance their teaching skills. The program consists of a six-to-seven-week customized academic program including seminars on teaching methodologies, curriculum development, instructional technology, inclusive education, and educational leadership.

During the Fulbright TEA fellowship program, participants work closely with U.S. teachers in a secondary or high school and classroom. Upon completion of the program, the participants return to their countries and are expected to share the experience and knowledge gained from the program with their students, colleagues, and other community members.
